Oh the irony! I do agree though Sparky, text speak is hateful and I've always tried to keep my texts or Whatsapp messages as grammatically correct as I can (albeit the odd typo here and there) Sam. Yes the Irony!
The odd abbreviation I get - such as when someone signs off a message. Though to send out entire Text messages in abbreviated "Text speak".... and it isn't that these generic texts to parents are sent via a handset, the schools use software via a computer - so for me, there isn't any excuse.
FFS, LMAO, LOL, ROTFL and all that!

What has Priti Patel got against the letter g? Listenin' to her speakin' about Covid 19 I heard- grapplin', settins ( settings ), puttin', comin', savin', movin', issuin', breachin', refusin', riskin'
It's only funny when an otherwise well spoken person does it. Either talk proper like what I do or talk common, but don't do both.
Arthur, I was laughing at this myself during the press conference she did earlier in the week. As you say above, she actually speaks well generally so it makes it seem funnier Vi

Eating contests and 'mukbang', a Korean word meaning 'eating broadcast'. Tweeting photos of your dinner isn't enough, let me see you stuff your face with it in HD
I've never enjoyed eating out or even eating with the family, all that chewing & swallowing Who in their right mind enjoys watching & listening to this? Nearly 19 million people apparently-

The video I saw included someone shoving an Octopus in their mouth and getting their hair caught in it all. It also included a clip of someone shoving their face with lobster too.
In Widescreen and HD.....
19 Million viewers? That's more than Eastenders

I’m quite proud to be able to say that I’ve never seen more than about 25 seconds of an episode of Eastenders (that being approximately the maximum amount of time it takes to locate the remote, turn the TV off at the wall or, if necessary, smash the screen.

Sad to say that Annie had a spell of watching Eastenders. Thankfully it didn't last too long but that was in the days when our twins were tots and long before I had a PC or internet that I could escape to so time would be spent reading a Motorbike magazine. The noise of the program was such that my reading would be interrupted from time to time which was incredibly irritating. Annie also had a spell of watching Dallas as well as Dynasty, two further programs that are worthy of the Room 101 treatment. Sam.

My wife used to watch Eastenders but gave up on it about 15 years ago which is the last time I was exposed to it. I thought it was terrible and used to pick up a book or go out of the room when it was on.
