Same here, Alex. Washing the dishes is yet another task...maybe it needs to go into the little things which annoy the *** out of you thread!

I've never used a dishwasher. Come to think of it, I am the dishwasher. Not sure if that amounts to the same thing. I certainly don't get flowers or chocolates out of the arrangement, though, so I'm clearly doing something wrong! Yes, that's not right at all. You need to check the terms of your contract and renegotiate if necessary.

We've had this happen Arthur. When it does, I take out the filter and clean it, then run it on the highest temperature setting with a dishwasher cleaner bottle inside. Then we use Finish dishwasher freshener which hangs inside the machine. We also use lemon rinse aid which helps too. One other thing I don't do now (which we used to) was leave stuff in there overnight after washing. We tend to empty it quite soon after the cycle has finished (and the plates are still hot to the touch.) Gene. I'll try those things Gene. The smell puts me right off but other people in the house don't seem to notice it.

I suppose it all depends on how many are in the house. I still have to wash up pans & items that aren't suitable for the dishwasher. About 20 years ago I worked in a hostel, about 20 men lived there, they had an expensive lift that no one used but no dishwasher for some reason, most of my time was spent washing up.

We've got one, but I don't use it myself. I do 'em the old fashioned way. We mostly use our's when there's a load to do.

I'm going to box up my dirty plates, pans etc and send them to Alex as she offers a hand cleaning service, bit like there used to lots of auto car washers but now you can find people doing it by hand.
Doesn't appear to cost chocolates or flowers either.

You could always do what Kenneth Williams did, cover your cooker in cling film & eat out all the time.
