Some newspapers have recently reported the death of actress Rosalind Knight. She appeared in two of the early Carry On films: 'Carry On Nurse' and 'Carry On Teacher.' She had a 70 year career on stage and on screen, particularly on TV. Sad news Vi

Sad to hear of Rosalind's passing, seen in so many situation comedies and unforgettable as Mrs Cresswell in OFAH Jolly Boys' Outing.
R.I.P. Rosalind

There is a radio show on radio 4 extra, Carry On Up The Archive, narrated by Jim Dale that has lots on interviews with the stars. You can get it on catch up.

Kenneth Williams talks about his diaries in this clip, he brought some of them along & shows one to camera. Interestingly he says that he doesn't want others to read them, however in a much later interview on the Joan Rivers Show he mentions that he doesn't care if anyone reads them after his death. I've wondered about the ethics of publishing diaries, not sure how it works if someone is dead & can't give their consent.
In his diaries in Nov 1976, around the time of this interview, he mentions meeting Mavis Nicholson- 'Lunch with Mavis Nicholson. Talked about the diary programme & ironed out a format'. A few days after this entry it says- 'Peter Eade ( KW's agent ) has sent contract for the Mavis Nicholson show @ £35. This is derisory. I returned the contract.'
£35 in 1976 is valued at about £250 in today's money.
