I visited the permanent exhibition of Lindsay Fox's classic cars in Melbourne this week. Lindsay Fox is Australia's most successful trucking magnate. He started his business in 1956 with one truck. He leases the old Customs building at the end of Collins Street and has 50 cars (some cars change in this permanent display). It is a small but amazing collection. A still from a vid they showed on how they got a Rolls Royce out of the building ! Dash of Rolls Royce Silver Cloud III Drophead coupe with continental body Bentley Series III

Top floor ! (in every way) You can never get too close. This car is weird. It has an engine in the front and back ! A38 with 250HP and two 1.9 litre engines There are only four of these in the world. 230kmp top speed and 0-100km in 5.9 seconds and you switch the rear engine off with a push of a button. (I still don't want one)

Cool collection. And what a place to display them. I must say that alongside the best british 60's stuff I have a softspot for the 50's Mercedes SL's. Such beautiful lines and interiors on those cars.

Thanks for posting these up Batgirl
That's just how I like to see a collection: a range of vintages right up to modern day from all manufacturers, and all displayed well without being too bunched up.
Favourites for me? Hard to choose between so many Jags but I've always like the XJ220 and the XJR15, then I'd have to include the Ferrari F40 too.
Sam.
