These are greats spots ! I also like in the LOM location lists the inclusion of the little picture from the location/scene too. I didn't want to write the comment on the Location list thread as it would mess it up. I saw a Cortina Mk III XLE (same as a GLX in England) in the same bronze colour as the LOM one yesterday when driving home ! It had a vinyl roof and looked the bees knees. Unfortunately by the time I found a suitable uturn spot it had already left. Nice to see though.

Another red herring discovered while nailing the Series 2 Episode 3 locations today. While identifying a street scene, it doesn't help when the production team screw a false street name up on a wall. The lengths they go to just to make life difficult. Bastards!
Here we see the scene of a car bomb. Gene & Sam are talking by the car while Chris stands gazing at a road sign. Perhaps he's thinking "who put that there?"
I could have spent hours looking for "HEATHFIELD ROAD" and then I'd have been unable to match things up... because it is 21 miles away from where this was really filmed in Lowther Street, Bolton.
Here we can see the same wall without the prop...
Gene.

Good spot Gene Interesting to note how they strategically place Philip Glenister so he blocks the view of the modern double glazed door The Saint

I absolutely love these sort of threads. You miss so much when you watch these shows the first time around. Great stuff Genie.

My god, that's some crude editing. Very interesting, though. You could spend forever freeze-framing, I'm sure!
Slightly disappointed about Heathfield Road. That always jumps out at me because there's a place called Heathfield a few miles from here. :(
There's some great similar stories on the commentaries - where they've had to badly park a vintage vehicle to block things from view and cover modern cars with tarpaulins etc because they couldn't find the owner to move it. I love the little red brick terraces (not glamorous in person, I'm sure) but we just don't get much red brick down here at all. I remember when I went to Manchester, that was my overriding feeling - SO MUCH RED BRICK!

Don’t suppose you know where the station in the last episode was filmed, Guv?

Don’t suppose you know where the station in the last episode was filmed, Guv? Do you mean the train station where they board the train?
