Another one I like, by the late great Keith Emerson. Nighthawks.

Vienna, you might want to forget this one. This version has added vocals from your master- Arthur, the theme was possibly better than the film itself which was a complete waste of time. Actually, Rupert probably couldn't play the single as his record player only plays 78's Vi

Vangelis's finest hour, sampled by many within electronic music over the years!

This very groovy piece of music is a particular favourite & is heard over the opening titles to the Dick Emery vehicle 'Ooh You Are Awful', it doesn't fit the film at all & despite the soundtrack being composed by Christopher Gunning, this track is completely different from the rest of the score and is not by Gunning. Who actually composed it remains a mystery.

Some favourites which I'm always listening to in the motor... The Italian Job, 1969 - Matt Munro / Quincy Jones Get Carter, 1971 - Roy Budd Le Mans, 1971 - Michel Legrand Bullitt, 1968 - Lalo Schifrin Dirty Harry, 1971 - Lalo Schifrin Themology - a John Barry compilation from about 1998 which includes lots of Bond tracks and various other spy films of the '60s (plus the proper full length two minute version of the 'The Persuaders' theme) Villain Moderator Edit - Youtube videos of themes added to post

Great idea for a thread.
First off I make no excuse for a string of patriotic post-war films:
As regulars at St George's Day and various summer concerts I could listen to those three over and over.
Now for a somewhat eclectic mix:
And this is so good I thought it worthy of a repeat on this page:

Memorable Lalo Schifrin theme to the first Dirty Harry sequel with the simple but effective opening titles. His theme for 'Joe Kidd' is another great one.
