A nice addition to the best theme IMO.

Afternoon everyone, Today I have created a new sub board in the TV & Film section. This is strctly a members only section where members can post any TV or Film memorabilia they have but only wish to share it with members rather than have it available to any guest viewers of the forum. This new section will work in the same way as the other hidden sections of the forum which are only open to members who have attained the required post count. So anything that doesn't fit in an already dedicated board such as "Sweeney Media" or "Minder Locations" for example, can go in this new section. For the time being I have named the new sub board "Media Treasure Chest" and you will find it at the foot of the TV & Film board. I am open to sensible suggestions for a better title though so if you have any thoughts, post them here. To start the sub board off, I have placed Sparky's excellent "Callan - Series Outline & Bible" post in there. If anyone has previously posted something on the open forum that they would prefer to be in this protected section, let us know and we will move it. Gene.

How about "Memorabilia and Ephemera"?
Any one else have any other suggestions?
Sam.

For me Memorabilia and Ephemera mean pretty much the same thing. How about a nice bit of alliteration and use merchandise; Memorabilia and Merchandise. During the lockdowns I've been revisiting my Sweeney and Life of Mars collections and found memorabilia and merchandise I'd forgotten about. All of which means that, of course, I need a spreadsheet to catalogue and manage what I have. I'll do that in Lockdown 4 as it does mean clambering into the loft, something that's not as easy as it once was given that my weight has increased with my age. Would be great to share photographs of some of the items. Dickie

For me Memorabilia and Ephemera mean pretty much the same thing. Sorry to correct you Dickie but there is a fundamental difference between them. Ephemera is usually a paper based item intended for a one-off use and probably unseen by the viewing public such as a script would be for a single episode, whereas memorabilia could be something more substantial such as a limited edition commemorative / reproduction piece, maybe something from the set seen many times such as an ashtray or like you have, and so many of us are envious for: a set of number plates that appeared in many episodes. Sam.

Just a quick message to let you all know I have now created a brand new section here on 4:3tv. It is a dedicated section for one of my favourite series - Randall & Hopkirk Deceased. The original one too, not the 2000 rubbish remake. The R&H(D) section comprises a chat board, a media board and a locations section. To kick things off, I have posted a full location report for the opening episode 'My Late Lamented Friend & Partner'. As usual, I have tried to give a little background information with some of the location info to make things a little more interesting. You can find the all new section > HERE <I hope to see you all posting over there! Gene.

That certainly is great news. I've not seen any of these for donkeys years so my memory of them is very sketchy - time to get back up to speed! Sam.

If any members spot any other R&H (D) threads that can be moved into the new section, give us a shout Gene.
