Just spotted this on youtube and I thought that many of the squad should recognise the roads.
Just a short clip with plenty of typical 70's motors:

That's a fantastic clip Sam. Oddly enough, the traffic seems as bad then as it is now! Thanks for posting this Gene.

It seemed to get worse around the late 80's to early 90's which was when I was driving through there but I only get to see it of a weekend nowadays.

At 0.15 to 0.17 a Bedford Cf with sliding doors passes by. Was it a law or something that if you had a van with sliding doors then you MUST DRIVE WITH THE DOOR OPEN Has anyone ever seen one go by with the driver door shut I haven't.

No, but I had a b***ocking from a copper once before I joined the force for driving a Bedford CF with the door open. Gene.

The thing with those was that they had a loop to the rear of the door that you hooked over the door handle to hold the sliding door open.
And that was before compulsory seat belts too!

It was a sod if you hadn't latched it open and had to brake sharp. Better than a guillotine!

They were good vans. I always thought they drove better than the equivalent Transit.

They certainly looked as good as the Transit. Especially the twin wheel variant.
