My favourite episode at the moment. Jack undercover, punch-ups, long hot summer, smashing Take my hand ...

There's a scene in this when Carter and Huke are outside having a fag when a panda turns up and pulls out a drunkard to which Huke says "tell me, how do you get that stoned this early?". This looks like the same fella that shops Lukey Sparrow to Rudd (Michael Melia) in Messenger of the Gods.
He sure is a strange looking bloke, any ideas who this is?

He's a regular in many 70's shows Steve. I can't remember his name. I'll ask Aitch.

In case Aitch doesn't get back to Gene- Fred Wood ( or Woods ) is his name, he also appears in 'Jigsaw' in the pub at the beginning, he usually plays downtrodden characters. He has quite a good moment in 'Blow Up' where he's one of the men leaving the doss house where David Hemmings has been taking photos. Here's a thread about him including Aitch's recollections- www.britmovie.co.uk/forums/extras/95351-fred-wood-extra-not-ordinary.htmlAnother similar looking actor/extra is Roy Evans.

That's a really interesting link you've put on Arthur. When i read that Fred was in the Professionals episode Take Away i could picture him looking in the bins as the police cars pull into the alley. I'ts amazing that film and particularly tv from that period so often cast small parts to people who looked exactly right.
