Well I just posted on the 'Little things that annoy the ***** out of you' and I like that thread but there should surely (in the interests of balance) be a thread on the opposite. Now I like a whinge and as I get older that seems to be coming more and more naturally to me. I wonder why that happens. It just does. So I'm trying to break the trend and go the other way.
Ok starting small. I went to buy a bottle of wine at the bottle shop (Yep we call alcohol/grog shops 'bottle shops' in Aust.) and they had a 2 for 1 offer which I didn't know until I got to the counter and the assistant suggested I grab another bottle for free ! For me to have 2 bottles of wine in my fridge is unheard of. I feel like I have a wine cellar. Lol

What a result Batgirl. At least the shop assistant pointed the offer out. They can be quite surly and uninterested.

I should have bet money that this thread would flop. I knew it, even as I was writing it, that things that annoy are more entertaining to read than things that delight. Admin and mods, feel free to delete my thread.

We do get good things from time to time. I remember a few years ago when I was unemployed, I had to go to Macclesfield to sign on, and at the time I was also without a car, so I was using the 130 bus. One day, in December, the bus didn't turn up, so I was going to miss my time for the meeting. It started to rain and I felt a bit down. Not really having much idea what to do, I set off trying to thumb a lift, after about 10 minutes, a white BMW pulled up, and the passenger window was opened, a rather attractive blonde lady leaned across and asked where I was going, Macclesfield I replied, she said, so am i, jump in.
She was really nice, and I got a ride in a BMW with heated seats, instead of the bus, and I made my meeting in time, a couple of weeks later, just after Christmas, I got my current job too.
That was a bad day which turned into a good one😀

There are things but I have to think hard for them, and we don't always appreciate them enough at the time! I was pleased that I won the Jackpot of £50 one day in December 2019 which was the workplace Christmas Bingo if I remember correctly. I got all the numbers and I couldn't believe it as I hardly ever win things!

A T shirt I've just seen advertised on line. It's says "I may be old, but I did get to see the world before it turned to s***!
Could be a motto for us who were around in the 70s😀

Anyone see that burping woman on Britain's Got Talent? Me and my 17 year old lad laughed ourselves silly😀(both our sense of humour is fairly childish and vulgar btw!)

The bloke playing tunes on the hosepipe was another! I think BGT in its early stages while bizarre acts and idiots are on it is actually funny, later, when they get buzzed off, it gets tedious

What made my day was flicking through the channels and bypassing Britain's Got Talent completely! I'm pleased to say that I've only watched it for as long as it takes to state the phrase "What the hell is this sh!t?"
Sam.
