Sad news and did a lot more before Coronation Street;
An uncredited part as a Policeman in "Robbery" and regular work as a co star in many long (or longish) running British TV series and some film appearances.
RIP John Savident

I remember he occasionally had parts in episodes of ITC shows such as Department S and Man in a Suitcase from the late 1960s. RIP John

Sad news. As others have said, he has had a distinguished career as a serious actor, but I'm currently enjoying his work in the current "Classic Coronation Street" runs as Fred Elliot. RIP.
