Veteran stage and screen actor Michael Jayston, who had roles in TV shows such as Quiller, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, Crown Court, Doctor Who and A Bit of a Do, has died aged 88. He also appeared in two of the best Thriller episodes: Ring Once for Death and A Coffin for the Bride. theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2024/feb/05/michael-jayston-obituary

Not a name I was familiar with, Vi. But as soon as I saw the clips I recognised him. Sad news. RIP.

A great actor with such a distinctive voice. He even once played James Bond. Excellent in Tinker Tailor with great on screen chemistry with Alec Guinness.
RIP Michael Jayston

R.I.P Michael Jayston, I have possibly seen him in roles but never realised his name. Although one role that springs to mind for me is the Only Fools and Horses episode "Time On our Hands" from Dec 1996; He was of course Raquel's dad;
