So what’s everyone watching today as it’s the last day of chilling before usual chaos begins ! I’m on Likely Lads Christmas Special ( last day for me that anything Christmassy is allowed to be watched !). Then later will be either Great Escape or Heroes of Telemark and maybe the original Oceans 11.

Happy New Year Carter, some great choices there. I’ve watched the LL Xmas Special a couple of times in the last month and watched The Heroes Of Telemark yesterday. I’ve recorded Carry On Screaming so will probably stick that on later, after the match. Did Bob not tell you, there’s a match on today, it’s tradition

Think I might watch The Italian Job later and maybe another Carry On. Gene. I watched The Italian Job on Boxing Day with our youngest, it never fails to raise a laugh even though we know the script by now. Later I'll be watching a film about Colin McRae, it was made in 2007 but I've never seen it and just spotted it available on Amazon Prime. Just a shame the same hasn't been done for Richard Burns (that I'm aware of). Sam.

Happy New Year, everyone During the holiday period, the remote is strictly under the control of Mrs Nightfly, so it was a diet of Christmas related stuff. Unfortunately she also discovered Channel Five are re-running Prisoner Cell Block H. However, I was allowed to watch The Italian Job... I watched The Italian Job on Boxing Day with our youngest, it never fails to raise a laugh even though we know the script by now. Given that I first saw it on TV in 1977 and I probably watch it once a year on average since then, I think I'm off the book as far as the script is concerned, so could stand in for Mr Caine if there was a remake. Knowing my luck I'd probably only be offered Prof Peach or Camp Freddie.

Sorry for late reply, interesting thread though. I caught a bit of Rick Astley at The Roundhouse in Camden on New Years Eve and the only tv I watched on New Years Day was The Worlds Strongest Man Final. Its regular in our house this time of year. This is the first year for probably 20 years ! that I didn't get around to watch any classic telly, due to family being around and working a lot of the week How annoying ! I would have loved to watch a few classics with beer in hand.

They're absolutely crap but addictively enjoyable love good old lag Lizzie (Sheila Florence) too.
