Enjoyed those Dirts I like the diesel unit doing the last Riverside service. So 1970s British Rail. The beer festival pic looks like it should be soundtracked to "How About You", as the Byker pic should be soundtracked to "Keep away bonnie lad, it's not safe!" And I always thought the Barrasford Arms was in Barrasford, not Humshaugh, although that it isn't far away. But presumably the piece was written by a local, so I won't doubt them! Great stuff.

I had a look and I think the article confuses The Crown in Humshaugh with The Barrasford as the villages are next to each other and the pubs architecture is similar. Looks like The Barrasford to me.

Thanks for the confirm, Del, as it was always in Barrasford as far as I was concerned.
If indeed the article writers have confused it for The Crown, then they clearly never watched the WHTTLL episodes in question, as the Barrasford Arms signage is as clear as Valerie's flirtatious overtures to Terry.
Good article and pics, but let down by some iffy research!

Here's The Crown Inn in Humshaugh. It has similar block work on the corners like the above pic of Bob and Terry outside The Barrasford.

BIB yes I don't think so PP they might be Millennials who put that together... , still even with a few inaccuracies these photo stories which turn up in The Chronicle and other such papers are good too see sometimes. The Barasford is a top notch hotel in beautiful country.
