Rush hour by Jane Weidlin, from some time in the late 80s, can't remember the year as I had got a bit sketchy about music at that time, but I thought this was a good one A good song. I bought it on 7" vinyl at the time it was released Steed

Rush Hour will be remembered by those of us from the smoke who listened to Capital Radio in the mornings as it was reworked as a jingle for Chris Tarrant's breakfast show. "Tarrant in the rush hour".
Great song which got old very quickly because of that!

And another one from late 75. R and J Stone, We do it. Never heard from them again A classic... and a bit like a spicier version of Peters and Lee.

I first heard this on a pub jukebox in late '83 and instantly thought, Wow, this guy sounds just like that bloke from The Undertones. Then I saw the video. Probably an intentional one hit wonder and just a side project for Vince and Feargal.

The Assembly was originally going to be an ongoing project where Vince Clark and E.C. Radcliffe (the "Eric" where Yazoo were upstairs at) would work with various different vocalists under that umbrella, Feargal being the first.
But for whatever reason, Vince decided to abandon this loose way of working and then return to the fixed synth duo formula of Yazoo by recruiting a bloke who sounded like Alison Moyet and start Erasure.
I've heard tell that this video was filmed at Upminster windmill, not far from me, which does look like it architecturally. But the campsite and high-rise buildings are definitely not Upminster.

Thanks for the info, PP. I did think it a bit of an odd location - a windmill next to a high rise. It was only a few years ago when I learned more about the Brendan Gleeson lookalike in The Assembly and that it was Eric whose engineering/production skills were vital in the early days of Yazoo.

I'm fairly local to the Windmill and it does appear to be similar. There's not a lot of distance shots in the vid to go on but at 3.31 we have this image with the house to the left in the background and some greenery to the left. https://www.instagram.com/p/Cl8e6R0IYvV Found this similar viewpoint of Upminster Windmill although taken from further back. It does look like a fit.

How about two hit wonders? Jona Lewie was on the radio yesterday and he just did Kitchen at parties and Stop the cavalry, May and December 1980, and I never heard of him again. Once more, two excellent tracks imo.

The Christmas record was a great pension for him.
