Another one was on the top 10 at 10 feature yesterday, and it was one I had never heard before, it was a song called Guilty by a girl group called The Pearls, and it was a top 10 hit in 1974, but I just don't remember it at all, although I didn't seriously get into music until 75

Another one-hit wonder I used to enjoy at the time (1988) was 'Girlfriend' by the US singer-songwriter Pebbles. It was her only UK Top 40 hit.

That changed after I saved up my paper round money and started buying a semi-decent stereo system with a better quality tuner, amp and speakers. Guilty was one track that I 'appreciated' so never really bothered following up by buying when there were so many other better tracks released at the time. Sam

'Ever So Lonely' by Monsoon in 1982, a sitar drenched slice of Indian pop. I rather like it! Villain

Memories of a summer holiday in Newquay at the time. It was only a few years ago I found it was produced by Phil "The Collector" Swern who went on to be an actual radio producer for Pick Of The Pops with Blackburn, Gambaccini etc. Before then, I always assumed they were American.

Pussycat. A number one with Mississippi in September 76, took over from Abbas Dancing Queen in the top spot, don't think they ever did anything else of note. I've still got my 7 inch vinyl copy of the record, btw. I thought it was quite a decent effort

They did follow it up with a decent song called "Smile" which got airplay but didn't trouble the charts. As for the vinyl - had a mate who was a mad record collector, but would sell a few off when he needed a bob or two. He could sell coal to miners. He once sold me a 7" of "Mississippi" by Pussycat.... sung in German. It's rare and will be worth a bomb in a few years, believe me, he said.

Dee Clark, Ride a wild horse. A cracking song from late 75. Never heard of him again.
A couple of others from the same period were Fattie Bum Bum by Carl Malcolm and Like a butterfly by Mac and Katie Kissoon.
