(Adopts trainspotter voice) "Technically this is UK Ska Revival"
Great though it all was - Specials ruled the roost but Beat, Selecter and Madness were all fab too
Here's some source tuneage from 1967...

Love the Two Tone and Ska stuff. This definitely got me interested in looking back at Ska from the 60s and 70s, a goldmine of music I was never really exposed to growing up. The Specials certainly lead the way for the British stuff and dare i say still do with their recent albums compared to the rest. Madness certainly had the most commercial success but on the whole all the bands mentioned above had some great records. They have all aged very well I think. Unashamedly all hits and a couple of classics The Specials - Gangsters The Selecter - On My Radio Madness - One Step Beyond Bad Manners - Walking In The Sunshine The Beat - Hands Off She's Mine The Selecter - Three Minute Hero The Harry J All Stars - Liquidator The Specials - A Message To You Rudy The Valentines - Blam blam fever Madness - Embarrassment
