We've had disco, now it's the turn of new wave. These two styles of music which ran parallel were why this was just the best ever musical era
Boomtown Rats Rat trap Squeeze Cool for cats Blondie Picture This Ian Dury Hit me with your rythim stick Elvis Costello Oliver's army Martha and The Muffins Echo beach (charted in early 80, but was recorded in 79) Blondie Heart of glass Boomtown Rats I don't like Mondays Elvis Costello Radio Radio Pretenders Brass in pocket

It took me a while to appreciate the punk/new wave phase, with the exception of these which struck home on first listen:-
The Tubes - Prime Time Buzzcocks - I Don't Mind Tom Robinson Band - Up Against The Wall Boomtown Rats - Like Clockwork Boomtown Rats - She's So Modern Ian Dury & The Blockheads - What A Waste The Jam - David Watts The Members - Sound of the Suburbs Blondie - Hanging On The Telephone The Police - Can't Stand Losing You

Great selection, with the solitary exception of the Police, who I have just never liked!

Good choices.

Prime Time by The Tubes is a great track, they also did another one, I saw the Light, in 73 which was brilliant too.
