I have just heard that Gary Brooker, leader of Procul Harum died on Saturday aged 76. Famous for singing and co-writing A Whiter Shade of Pale in the 60s and their chart comeback song Pandora's Box in 1975.

Awful news. "A Whiter Shade of Pale” is one of the first songs I ever remember hearing whilst on a family summer holiday in northern Scotland. Such a beautiful record and very much a perennial favourite of mine. RIP Gary Brooker, and keep skipping the light fandango

RIP Gary.
I remember seeing him in more recent times on the panel on Never Mind the Buzzocks. A great musician.
In 1978, he took part in Paul McCartneys "Rockestra" - here recording at Abbey Road. The entire band is a Who's Who of the music business. Sadly - this programme hasn't been shown since 1978 - this is the only footage I can find - excuse the quality.
