I've been reading some interesting stuff about Goering, who was head of the German air force, and leading Nazi, during world war 2. He was actually Hitler's deputy, but the interesting bit is about his brother, Albert. He was the opposite extreme, he hated the Nazis and helped Jews to escape. He had contacts in the Czech resistance and actively assisted refugees to escape from the camps.
Herrman knew about it, and had to cover up for him and got him out of trouble on several occasions.
After the defeat in the Battle of Britain Herrman Goering was sidelined a bit and was often out of his face on drugs. How he managed to survive as one of the leadership is a bit of a mystery, he was a massive bull*****er who told Hitler what he wanted to hear, he failed in an attempt to airlift supplies to the German 6th army when they were surrounded at Stalingrad, and that seemed to finish his career off. From then on he just used his position as an opportunity to enrich himself by stealing art treasures.
Albert survived the war and lived quietly until he died in 1966.

Interesting Cartman, yes I also have more than a passing interest in WW2 history too, although I watch a fair few Youtube videos (ofen uploaded by the same Youtube member, who really knows his history), with some professionally produced mini documentaries of previously unknown stories during the 6 year conflict.
There are a few on Goering too, (a few I've not got round to seeing) including a fascinating one about a few cars he had, the most famous was a beautiful Mercedes SSK roadster he ordered new in metallic blue. To cut a long story short was restored to original as new condition in recent years and survives I believe in a museum.
Yes surprised a film hasn't been made about him and his brother would be quite good one to watch!
