I just remembered that our village undertaker in the 70s had Pink Paraffin and Esso Blue metal signs hanging outside his workshop. Strange - well even stranger to think it's taken me 40+ years to think that it's a bit odd. Pink Paraffin, sounds very modern!

One for the car and train enthusists on 4:3tv! Gene. Heaton, Newcastle, with 55 013 'The Black Watch' at the sharp end! The Traction Inspector who passed me out as a driver spent some of his early career at Kings X driving Deltics in the '70s . Cracking idea for a thread Gene, really enjoying catching up on this - someone posted a smudge of a 'running in' sticker earlier, I've just bought a repro one that goes in the front screen of my Maserati, I'll try and post a smudge of it later. It's remarkable how tidy most of the roads look in the pics posted so far, and the general lack of road furniture is very noticeable compared to today, there is far too much of it about these days. Off street parking? For anyone interested, this photo was taken in Sheffield - Google ViewThe Anglia is long gone (as is the shop), but the registration is still in use, now on a 2018 Range Rover Evoque. Gene. Great photo Gene.
Greenhow Street. Shops been bricked up.
Some of "This is England '86" and "'88" was done down there. Wasn't too far from Hillsbrough.
