I remember a number of the classic strips: Billy Whizz, Desperate Dan (can't think of him without thinking of Yosser Hughes!), Korky the cat, Minnie The Minx, and The Bash Street Kids, but one they couldn't get away with now was in The Dandy and here it is (I kid you not!):
I don't think they could get away with that today in a normal comic though I could see it getting in to Viz.
Sam.
Sam. Did you find this on the web ? I think the lad in the last pic, fourth on the right, has just noticed Spunky, being, errr, spunky !!!!

Being a child growing up in the 70's I used to get the Topper every week; didn't really get any others though later in the 70's my friends got into Warlord magazine & I joined the 'club' they had running. Those days you did everything by post but I got a wallet & a codebook by return which I have to say I still have in a box in my loft!

Those days you did everything by post but I got a wallet & a codebook by return which I have to say I still have in a box in my loft! Ah, those were the days. Getting postal orders, stamped address envelopes and waiting for the postman. For a young lad in the North East, Kentish Town seemed very far away and exotic!!
I've been buying some of the old Scoop comics over the last few years and months, I'm a grown man now (biologically speaking anyway) but still enjoy reading them.

That's the one thing that I enjoy about going to the dentist; the waiting room always has comics. You can keep your Country Life and the sailing magazines, I head straight for the tatty old comics.

The one thing I enjoy about the dentist is leaving! Our dentist doesn't have any comics or magazines; I think they just want you to listen to the drill screaming in the next room!
