Rude Kid in Viz was quality.
His mother asked him what he wanted for his tea.
"p*** up a rope, f**kstick" was his reply accompanied by a 2 finger salute.

Viz, Great comic I bought it loads over the years but the humour got a bit stretched if you read it all the time. I still get the odd one and annuals, and they crack you up. Favourite character has got to be good old Roger Mellie "The Man On The Telly". Love it when they take the p**s out of Jimmy Tarbuck or Jimmy Tarbrush as they have him.

Roger Mellie, The Man On The Telly - a brilliant character. There were others though, including Aldridge Prior - The Hopeless Liar, Sid The Sexist, The Fat Slags, Norbert Colon, Buster Gonad, Big Vern, Alexander Graham Bell-end, and another personal favourite - Black Bag - The Faithful Border Bin Liner.

I subscribe to Viz too. I agree with your choices lads, spot on. Drunken Bakers is absolutely superb and very well thought out, the way it is written is very ,very clever and in some ways is a little high brow for Viz.
One that I forgot about but you can add it to the list you have given is Shitty Dick, toilet humour at its best. One of the reasons I like Roger Mellie is that Peter Cook was his voice in the animated series and every time I read it I do it in that voice.
The adverts aren't bad either.

Let's stick with The Dandy or The Beano here, I'll be reading Viz in the pub.

I read a few editions of Viz in the nineties, at work borrowed off a mate, the fat slags were a good laugh. I didn't know it was still going. I'll have to have another peek at it sometime.

Getting back on topic then, like Del I used to get loads of annuals (such as The Hotspur, Valiant, Warlord etc) from my older cousins once they had finished with them.
I used to look out for comics with strips drawn by Sid Burgon as he lived in the same town as me. They included Joker, Lolly Pop & Keyhold Kate.
