Drinking whisky I can understand, but collecting it? If he's never going to sell his collection he could secretly drink it all & replace the contents with tea, who would know? I bet he gives his businessmen pals Bells in a fancy bottle when they come round.

I've been in Harrods in London a few times over the last ten years or so, and I remember looking at some whiskies they had on the shelves and the prices of some of them were in the hundreds. I know of course that various wines can be very expensive but I didn't know whiskies could be too.
Of the whiskies I've tasted, as I remember two of the best were 'Highland Park' and one Called 'Singletons'

The most expensive I've tasted is Green Spot irish whiskey, I think the bottle cost £60. It was tasty & very easy to drink.

You would certainly taste it if it was swapped out for a cheapo blended. You could get away with replacing a century's worth of gold watch with a 30 quid Malt.

What a bell end. That collection would last a matter of months in my gaff.
It's like classic motors. Yes, they're nice to look at but they're even better to see being driven. Single malt is for necking, not rubber necking.
