For those that like their cars on a small scale as well as full size, there is the UK Slot Car Festival for 2015 being held over the weekend of Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th May at the Gaydon Heritage Motor Centre Museum, see the website here: UK Slot Car Festival 2015 This is an annual event for all fans of Scalextric, Carrera, Slot It, Ninco and all other brands of slot car. The event takes over the museums entire upper floor and includes some huge layouts for patrons to race on, presentations by the main manufacturers, and a large swap meet area with traders selling all manner of new, used, discontinued, rare, and collectable cars, track, and accessories. The museum itself remains open so all visitors to the Slot Festival will also be able to view the museum's exhibits. For all fans of slot cars, this is the biggest event of the year and is well worth a visit. I'll be there for both days at a trade table but don't let that put you off. Sam.

Damn, I'm off to Newcastle that weekend. I have a few slot cars - Carrera Camaro / Superbird / Pontiac GTO's / Jag D-Type, Mustang, plus Scalextric 70's original Martini 911, black Escort Mexico, red & yellow Clubmans, and a sorry-looking TR 4a. My personal favourite is a white FD Victor I found at the NEC about five years ago for a tenner that was obviously made by someone using a basic flat platform.

Carrera muscle cars? I have a few of them myself: a Plymouth Hemi Cuda, a GTO, Mustang, Thunderbird, and a Highway Patrol Roadrunner. Quite heavy cars and a bit over-engineered but with some decent tyres they can be quick.
I'd be interested to see the FD Victor though, sounds as if it was a kit build? I've been tempted to use an Airfix HA Viva for conversion, I already have a Triumph Herald ready as a donor.

Anyone going to be visiting Gaydon this weekend?
I'll be there all day for both days so if you're visiting and fancy looking at the slot cars and events going on, don't forget to look around the traders' tables for some bargains.
My daughter will be with me and will wander round taking pictures so I'll post some up on here.

I will try and get along Sam but unsure what Bolly has planned for the weekend. Either way, have a good event mate Gene.

Thanks chaps, the event went really well, two full days of trading and broke my previous sales record. So I'm knackered but happy. My daughter was with me yesterday and she took some pictures in the museum rather than the Slot Festival, including the Stirling Moss Sprite that was in Car S.O.S.
I'll post those up tomorrow as I need to download them from her camera first.
Sam.
