I've also just remembered the other song that MTV censored/blanked out while I was there, it was The Beastie Boys and their single "Fight For Your Right". Expecting to hear the following: "Man, living at home is such a drag Now your mom threw away your best porno mag" Instead we were given: "Man, living at home is such a drag Now your mom threw away your best ..... mag" I could have given them a choice of couple of words that could have been overdubbed to replace 'porno' but I suppose they would have been blanked out too! I find it totally unnecessary. Sam Ridiculous shame there isn't a promo for a certain Beastie's song on 2004's 'To the 5 Boroughs' out of respect for the forum I've not posted it but it's title sums up MTV here for me.

The vinyl album version of "Money For Nothing" missed out the second verse. It was only later when I bought the album again on CD that I first heard that verse. They may just be playing the vinyl album version to avoid controversy or unnecessary complaints. Sam

Halloween costumes. Why are men's ones grotesque and scary and women's ones glamorous? I went to the post office in Handforth yesterday and the two counter staff were dressed up, the bloke was a zombie and looked like something that would put you off your cornflakes, the girl was a goth and looked like wow!!

I just don't get Halloween. I was walking the dog last night and two kids walked past dressed up as ghouls. As they went by one said "Happy Halloween!" to me and I was left wondering what there was to enjoy about it. I've never understood why people celebrate it and even more so why we've had to copy the septics with all the "Trick Or Treat" cobblers. Sam

I gave up buying sweets for the Trick or Treaters a few years ago when one of the "kids" on my doorstep had a day's worth of stubble on his face and probably favoured a can of Stella to Harribo sweets and a fun size Milky Way.

Halloween existed when I was a kid in the 60s, but it was only on a very small scale and trick or treat wasn't a thing at all

My local Woolworths had about half of one shelf with a few Halloween bits on and nowhere else locally sold any Halloween items! We never bothered about it Steed

I remember my Mum saying Halloween is just a load of American tosh No one bothered with it really, it was all about November the 5th. Remember kids don't go back to a firework once lit
