I agree with Arthur on Pink Floyd, not my bag at all. I have listened to Dark Side of the Moon and it just wasn't my cup of tea.

One thing I really don't get is marr...just kidding, have a great day Alex!
No offence to Pink Floyd fans but I've never understood their huge popularity or why 'Dark Side Of The Moon' has sold so many copies.
I was the same with DSOM until I got a copy then loved it. Even the band can't understand why the Album did so well. They knew they had a reasonably good album - but thought it would last a few years and then everyone would move on.

Sorry, Lord Em, just means nothing to me I'm afraid. They were a psychedelic band before Barrett left
That track I posted earlier, Lucifer Sam, is a personal favourite - have a listen. It'll get you frugging across yer living room
That era is completely different to the gazillion selling 70s incarnation of Pink Floyd
I'm not particularly keen on DSOTM and all that - but there's lots to enjoy in the Syd years
Syd's solo stuff has some gems in too
Try Gigolo Aunt for starters, it's blimmin brilliant....

I'm getting married on Tuesday. The reason for the date being he can have fireworks and it not p*ss everyone off because it's actually bonfire night but it is a Christmas themed wedding, I'm afraid, ladies and gents ... so those of you who hate early Christmas would probably not approve!
It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks Bolly, the important thing is that you both have the day that you want and enjoy every moment of it.
I wish you all the best for the day and for a long and happy future together.
Sam.

Lightning Seeds did a good cover of Lucifer Sam.

Yes I quite like Pink Floyd's early psychedelic stuff. I'm always dubious about an album that sells in the tens & hundreds of millions, especially if other albums by the same artist don't sell nearly as well.

I just listened to that Lucifer Sam track and it was OK, but didn't really blow me away. I've just never been able to get into this kind of art house, slightly indulgent prog rock kind of stuff. I really got into music in a big way in the late 70s when new wave and punk, later ska and 2 tone, together with the equally exciting disco era were taking off and this kind of stuff was a bit kind of old hat.
