Sad to report that Doris Day has died at the age of 97 after suffering from severe Pneumonia. RIP Doris. BBC News

Sad news indeed! To reach 97 is a tremendous innings but it is still very sad to lose one of the true greats from the heydays of the big screen. R.I.P. Doris

Doris was a great star. I liked her cheerfulness and upbeat perrsonality. We could do with some of that in films today.

RIP Doris Day, great that she reached such a great innings and a legendary jolly figure, of the type which is all but gone from Hollywood now.
