That's one of the great things about the forum, it can help bring back memories. There are some SSTF episodes on yt at the moment but 'Pop Goes The Weasel' has gone so here is a copy on vimeo-

I think I had read it was listed as a missing presumed wiped episode. One to save for viewing later this week !

Great stuff Arthur
Hello must surely be the greatest of the underrated Glam groups. I know they had a few hits but, really, it should have been way more
This had top five single written all over it
As it was it was just the B-side of "Games Up" 1975

Back in the New York Groove from late 75 was the one I remember. Good song.

I found this tune on top new 4 CD compilation "Can The Glam" which I highly recommend if you like this genre
Put the fact that it's "the Waddy" out of your mind and embrace it on its own terms
Here it is performed on Crackerjack, yes....
It's Friday It's Five to Five and It's Crackerjack...

Maybe I should file them in the Guilty Pleasure section, but I always had a lot of time for Showaddywaddy. They were great performers who found a winning niche and stuck with it. I saw them live, a good 13 years after their peak when they hadn't bothered the charts in ages and they were still energetic and entertaining. However, they were on the same bill as Unit 4 Plus 2 who had only one original member left (a kind of Unit 4 Plus 2...Minus 5) and Heinz, a singer with a band whose only hit was an instrumental ! We had a 50s revival in the mid 70s, a Mod revival at the end of the 70s, but we never really got the Glam revival, apart from the inevitable TV compilations obsessed with flares and platforms. Shame really.

Showaddywaddy weren't bad. They were entertaining and did a couple which weren't bad, A little bit of soap was probably my favourite of theirs from summer 78.

Maybe it's memories of teenage years and happier times, but I bet even the most harshest of their critics couldn't resist doing the three foot stomps during the chorus of this...

It's what influences a lot of music choices, Night. My keenness on music from 75-80 is because I associate it so strongly with the happy times of me being aged 15-20!

This junkshop glam gem is a classic stomper that could and should have been a hit...
