Not sure I can pick a top 5. My favourite Slade song is 'Gudby Gudby'.
These posters were on Billy Hamon's bedroom wardrobe doors in a Z Cars episode, himself a Junkshop Glam artist-

I don't know enough about the genre to give a top 5 but I'd definitely have to pick "Children Of The Revolution" by T.Rex and "How Does It Feel" by Slade, neither of which feel particularly "Glam".

Keeping it down to five is difficult but in no particular order:
Mott The Hoople - Roll Away The Stone Sweet - Ballroom Blitz Suzi Quatro - Devil Gate Drive Slade - Cum On Feel The Noize Mud - Tiger Feet
It'll probably be a different five tomorrow.

Billy Hamon....himself a Junkshop Glam artist- You've done it again Arthur Great intel I must confess I've only heard of Billy Hannon via a compilation but, yes, that track is genius A touch of Bryan Ferry, a touch of Alvin Stardust, the piano from A Glass of Champagne - a perfect junkshop classic
Wonderful

By the by Arthur, have you heard Billy's Bombed Singles - both a 45 rpm single and an LP? It's not even on YouTube so I, sadly, have not had the pleasure Fortunately the Butch Things b-side is on YouTube. Not up to Butch Things though, but still pretty good...
Billy Hamon - Amusements Arcade
Another bit of interesting intel about Butch Things/Amusement Arcade, it was produced by Andy Mackay and features at least 3 out of 4 of Dire Straits. It was their first session job.
He also put out a single as BogdanAccording to one blogger... Bogdan? Bogdan who? BILLY HAMON of BUTCH THINGS infamy -that’s who! Not sure why he used this pseudonym, but Oh Eddie is truly the son of Butch Things It's next level stuff... Bogdan - Oh Eddie (Baby Blues) (1980)

Like you Lord E I've not heard a lot of Billy Hamon's music, just what I've seen on youtube. Hamon also played a record producer in the Minder episode 'A Star Is Gorn' featuring that other forgotten pop artist/actor Mike Holoway of Flintlock fame ( also the co vocalist on Paul Shane's notorious 'You've Lost That Loving Feeling ' Pebble Mill appearance ).
Hamon has a youtube channel, there's a couple of videos of his family & a trailer for a novel he's written ( not sure it has been published as I can't see it anywhere ) but not much else. A similar character to his 'Please Sir' colleague Malcolm McFee or Roy Sone ( Artie Ward in 'Loving Arms' ), memorable tv appearances in their youth, some involvement in music & then relative obscurity.
The most recent thing I saw Billy Hamon in is an episode of a tv show called 'Crafty Beggars', this is a craft series from a few years back hosted by Julie Peasgood & Anthea Turner's sister, Hamon was on an episode making a paper hedgehog ( apparently he's a friend of Julie Peasgood which explains why he was on the programme ). Here's a clip of it, Hamon appears from 1min 30-
