That's both of them gone now. I had the privilege of meeting both Ray & Alan on numerous occasions during my involvement with the Tony Hancock Appreciation Society, and they were great people to chat with.
RIP Ray and thanks so much for the legacy you leave.

Galton and Simpson were excellent. They left a great legacy with Steptoe and Hancock. I remember their scripts for Steptoe and son being compared to Samuel Beckett once. RIP Ray

Ray along with His partner Alan were brilliant writers, who gave us some if the very best comedy we've ever had in this country.
Very sad to see both of them gone now.

Loved Galton and Simpson's work. Steptoe & Son was the best written sitcom IMO.

Another legend of British comedy gone.
His work with his writing partner Alan Simpson was of the absolute highest quality, providing numerous actors with outstanding scripts that offered both laughs and pathos.
