Definitely 'Faces for Radio' that one.
Certainly of it's time that one and reinforces the love or hate viewpoint towards Edmonds too.
Must be pretty rare that clip and big thanks for finding/posting Arthur.

I remember that advert too Arth. Oddly though, I don't remember the foil around the creme eggs being green red & blue. I thought it had always been Cadbury's classic blue red & yellow. Gene. Interesting that Crème Eggs haven't always the blue, red & yellow they've seemed to have been like that for donkey's years.
I remember there was Fry's/Cadbury's Mint Crème Eggs around which like Mini Eggs seemed to be a bit different. Had a check and Cadbury's do still so a Mint variation although I've not noticed it compared to the more classic Crème variety.

That's DI Moriss, he came poking his nose into the Barley Mow you might remember. He looks & sounds like he's having a breakdown in this ad, most sinister ad for pork I've ever seen Serves him right Arthur for giving Dennis and the lads Aggro when renovating Thornley Manor LOL!
Nah seriously all good finds these mate.

I had a read of the transcript of the podcast re the pork ad, their interpretation of it is that it was made during a time of 'austerity' in the UK & the message of the ad was to not feel ashamed to eat pork rather than the more expensive roast beef. Can't say I remember any particular year in the 80s that was more austere than other years, but it might explain the 'we've all got plenty' line. To be honest I don't think the American podcasters quite understand what they're watching, I don't think they've ever seen a British man carve a roast.
The voiceover at the end is Robert Lang. Youtube commenters seem to think the man in the pork ad has killed the grandmother & it is in fact her they're eating rather than pork. Funnily enough Robert Lang was in a 'Out Of The Unknown' tv play where he is driven to distraction by his cheating wife & murders her.

Noticed amongst the youtube comments on the pork ad mention of this video, this is American animation director ( he directed episodes of The Simpsons amoungst other things ) Rich Moore mentioning the ad. A pity that actor Anthony Dutton died in 2013 ( he had moved to Brinsworth House, the retirement home for showbiz people ) & didn't get to witness his internet fame.
Playback is disabled outside of yt, he talks about the ad in the first few mins of the video.

Here's a selection of 1980's ad's from Granada sandwiched around a long forgotten Paul Nicholas programme Love Me Tender.
Some real obscure and probably long gone local ones from the North West too like Knibbs Fiat from the Manchester area and Liverpool's Ian Skelly Centre who bit the dust in the early 2000's.

I remember 'Bust', this was 1987 hence the Elvis tribute show & film to mark the 10 year anniversary of his death. Remember those Ian Skelly ads as well.
