I didn’t dislike Paul Hogan, I remember he had a show of his own, which was an Aussie import on I think, Channel 4 sometime in the early 80s

Yes I used to watch Paul Hogan on channel 4, the humour was a bit broad but it was good in places & Hogan himself is a likeable character. I think the best parts were with his dopey room mate, I recall a moment where Hogan makes a sandwich, he takes 2 pieces from underneath the top piece of bread in the sliced loaf, describing the top slice as 'poison', all these years later the comment often comes into my head when I'm making a sandwich. An episode of The Paul Hogan Show was shown on channel 4's first day of broadcast, according to wikipedia the Fosters ads had been seen in the UK prior to this.

Another advert ive just remembered is one for British Pork from about 1980.It was so bad it was memorable and featured this ridiculous man serving pork at the dinner table to a group of people and repeatedly saying how "everyones got plenty" and "got wht it takes" or something along those lines.
Anyone remember it? it was barmy!

That's DI Moriss, he came poking his nose into the Barley Mow you might remember. He looks & sounds like he's having a breakdown in this ad, most sinister ad for pork I've ever seen

Reading the youtube comments, a few people mention 'Scriptnotes', i googled it & it's an American podcast, on one episode they talked about this ad after apparently it went viral. The podcast is subscription only but there is a transcript of the episode here-
The part where they talk about the ad is towards the bottom of the page.

These creme egg ads were directed by Sweeney director Terry Green according to the youtube info.

I remember that advert too Arth. Oddly though, I don't remember the foil around the creme eggs being green red & blue. I thought it had always been Cadbury's classic blue red & yellow.

According to wikipedia they began as green, yellow, red & blue but the green was got rid of 'early in the 21st century'. Apparently the US version still has green foil.
Here's an ad featuring Albert Welling from 'Drag Act'-
According to the yt description, Dick Clement directed these bizarre ads-
