Sad to hear of the death of Leslie Grantham today aged 71. Well known of course for playing Dirty Den Watts in Eastenders (the only time it was worth watching) and also in The Paradise Club with Don Henderson. Not a saint by any means but a good actor and made Eastenders have 30 million viewers when he served Angie divorce papers Christmas 1986. Rip Leslie.

RIP Leslie. Good, believable actor I thought. Had some success in The Paradise Club & 99-1 but he was always going to be typecast as Den Watts. Remember seeing him interviewed on the Jeremy Kyle Show & feeling sorry for him, he seemed a decent bloke despite his past.

RIP Leslie Grantham - can't undo the past and he always seemed like he properly regretted it in later interviews but he was quite deep and believable as an actor as Dirt Den definitely. Never saw the Paradise Club though. Not sure, but I think he was in an episode of Bulman as an armed robber pinching a MK1 Capri from a woman from at a petrol station, (after the gangs Jag crashes) in a chase sequence after a blagging but it doesn't end well for his character! Like a scene from The Sweeney!

Sorry to hear of his passing yesterday at the age of 71.
I never watched EastEnders or The Paradise club so all I saw him in was a couple of times being interviewed and when the kids used to watch "Fort Boyard".
He appeared to be an okay sort of bloke but he did look ill in the pics I saw of him that were taken back in February.
R.I.P. Leslie

As said earlier Leslie Grantham played a good part as Dirty Den in the days when EastEnders was watchable.

I am not a soap watcher so I never really watched Leslie Grantham in Eastenders. I believe he gave a really performance though. A lot of other actors are getting money for old rope in these shows as far as I can see.
Perhaps he should have stayed with the show a few years longer, established himself even more and made a bit more money before moving on? My mother used like watching Den and Angie a lot.
RIP Leslie.

I never watched Eastenders either so he didn’t mean that much to me, saw odd bits of the Paradise Club which he was also in. Still, a sad loss.
