Not sure I have any real memories of Special Branch, save for the title Would you say it's best to buy the Complete Series DVD? Or just get the two separate DVDs - one devoted to 1973 and one to 1974?
If the complete series doesn’t cost much more then it’s probably worth buying, otherwise just the 1973/74 George Sewell series would be my recommendation. The Saint

Lord Em,
I think you can only purchase the complete box set of the series from Network now. I haven't seen the separate series DVDs recently, although I suspect Amazon or eBay sellers still have them for sale.

Yeah I'd say go for the Complete set LE, I originally had only the 1973-74 sets when they first came out around 2004 but got the Complete one in 2013. The Complete one if it's still the same one has all the 1973-74 extras too.

Vi If deleted they're probably going for a high £ Vi unless a collector best get the Complete one.

I have just seen the 1973 series on Amazon for £16.99 - only one left in stock so you'd better be quick! Vi

Another thing with "Special Branch" too - I loved the Euston Films era titles and theme tune.
F*****g great stuff!
Though it seemed a bit of an anti-climax for the next 48minutes of story. The titles, fast, pacy, shoot outs, a car crashing, people running down stairs, punch ups with bold music - and then more than often the story lines (though good) were never as pacy and quick as this!!
Not sure if the music was specifically composed for the series - though throughout the series you can hear stings and variations on the actual piece. Not aware if it was a library peice, and Euston Films used all the various edits of it too.
Robert Earley wrote it all didn't he?

Yeah Robert Earley did do the Euston 73-74 theme Sparky. Those titles are brilliant much better than the previous ones and you can see the prototype for the successful series which followed it.
