Dan was quick all weekend and did a great job but anywhere else and he would have dropped down the field with that issue, I'm glad its a different team and winner though. Hopefully Red Bull can get it hooked up at another circuit like they did here and challenge Merc and Ferrari. F1 needs that too.

Agreed Del.
While Dan put in a sterling drive with a car in limp mode, it has to be said, any other circuit and he'd have ended up out of the points- through no fault of his own I hasten to add.
This underlines the shortcomings of Monaco as an F1 track. It is spectacular to see. I went to the Monaco GP years ago in the Schumacher era and it was marvellous to see and hear the cars there, but as a race in itself, it is more often than not won on the Saturday afternoon.
Gene.

Yes its more like The Isle Of Man TT this race as in its Driver versus track rather than outright racing. One mistake here and its barrier time. If they had tyres for this race only that last say 20 laps that would spice it up with more pit stops, changing grip levels possibly leading to more mistakes. Undoubtedly though this place looks the best race anywhere in the world I liked the onboard footage the other day because it really shows how mental it is to hit up to 180 mph on such a narrow circuit. I personally would like to see more of that on the coverage.

Meant to reply sooner but been mad busy these last few days.
Very, very happy that Danny Ricciardo won this one. Thought when the MUG-H went a bit wonky it was game over for him but brilliant he was able to drive around that and (track, tyres etc.) Vettel couldn’t really get near him.
Beyond that a bit of a damp squib race with poor tyre selection and a track that’s almost unpassable dictating the race. Still it’s one of those special case races where the it has to be on the calendar and perhaps when the cars lose a bit of downforce next year it may be more of a race than a precession. I don’t agree the track needs to be altered/changed though and for the drivers whinging about it (Hamilton, Alonso) either get on with it or do something else. Shame about Leclerc’s brakes failing and having a smash with Hartley that was neither drivers fault but apart from that pretty much it for Monaco this year.
Hopefully Montreal will be much better and more action – the total opposite of Monaco and I’m looking forward to doing it next week. Allez le Circuit Giles Villeneuve!
