Always worth taking someone who knows rather than "Have a go John who drinks down the Swan" Or if you can't, gen up a bit first on the good and bad points of the make and model. Unless you are a bit handy a classic car is a big step and could cost if it needs work though it won't need plugging into a laptop.

Thanks BG. It's evident that there's a good pool of knowledge to tap into on this forum.

It is almost essential to have the knowledge and practical know-how when dealing with a classic car, and to keep a good tool box in the boot. You can expect a few problems now and again, and having a good working knowledge allows a get-you-home fix more often than not.

Hmmm, that doesn't look too bad. The correct number of doors but not enough cylinders for my liking.

Underrated car the Scirroco, considering the popularity of the similar Golf its surprising. The one above is £16000 as much as i like those cars that price is very steep.

Only 30k miles though on a car that's almost 40 years old, it's a snip

Is a Reliant Robin a classic motor?
Not in this guise it's not!
Based on a Reliant Robin you wouldn't need a skid-lid but you could still get flies in your teeth:
