Did Talking Pictures TV show repeats of "Runaround" (or Runaraaaaaaand) with Mike Reid? I seem to remember my kids surfing through channels while I was in the kitchen - and it stopping on (I think) that channel.

They repeated a couple of Christmas Specials in 2017 I think, they were not as I remembered them. Fair play to Mike Reid for battling on with interviews while the kids were screaming, not an easy gig.

Noticed Bernard Stone ( Messenger Of The Gods ) in today's Gideon's Way episode, no onscreen credit & no credit for this appearance on his imdb profile either.
Bill Westley plays a police driver in several GW episodes, he appeared in 'Sweeney!'. I presume he is not the same Bill Westley assistant director on several Sweeney episodes ( he shares the dvd commentary track with David Wickes on 'Night Out' ), though I did notice he is listed as Bill Westley Sr. elsewhere, his father?
Peter Purves is also in this episode & forgotten English stunner Gloria Paul. Judging by her imdb credits, other than this GW episode her only other appearances in British productions are two episodes of the Benny Hill Show & the Morecambe & Wise film 'The Intelligence Men', all other credits are in Italian films.
Interestingly for fans of Italian soundtrack composers, she had a relationship & child with Piero Piccioni, one of the greats of Italian film music.

More ridiculous censorship on this channel, this time blurring the backsides of nudists in 'I'm Alright Jack', the laugh of it is that the star of this film is Ian Carmichael, possibly the least offensive actor who ever lived.
Another irritating thing they do is have a content warning caption before films & shows regardless of how inoffensive they might be. I wondered about this oversensitive practice so I googled 'talkingpicturestv warning' & it seems Ofcom summoned the people behind the channel ( a father & daughter team ) to a meeting after receiving ONE complaint ( according to the Ofcom document below ) about the word 'sambo' heard in an episode of 50's show 'Scotland Yard'. There were apparently other complaints re 'wog' heard on 70s soap 'Family At War' & 'coon' on the 70s comedy show 'Tell Me Another'.
Surely viewers with any intelligence understand about context? The irony of it is that it only takes ONE complaint for the Daily Mail & The Express to run with it & make it seem as if the channel is 'under threat'. Had the viewer not complained none of this would've happened, all the complainant did was provide the shit stirring tabloids with ammunition ( as well as waste the time & money of Ofcom & talkingpicturestv ). And now because of possibly just 1 person we have to put up with these patronising warnings before every tv show & film

The tabloid press are one of my pet room 101 subjects. Especially the Mail, or Heil as I like to call it, and the Express. They manufacture "outrage" to keep their readership in a permanent state of apoplectic fury.
I'm all right Jack is an excellent film by the way, Terry Thomas was brilliant in it, love the bit "you're an absolute shower!"

Great film, Sellars was good in this too as was the attractive girl playing his daughter flirting with Ian Carmichael, who my dad is related too, as it happens.
