I like the look of this one Vi. Did you watch the dubbed version? the trailer was in Italian. Perhaps it will be in the DVD collection I've ordered anyway. What I like about these films is that they're undemanding escapism. I will definately try and get hold of this one. Charles. Here's the Blu-ray and DVD version I got from Arrow Video, Charles. It's in both English and Italian with new Englsih subtitles for the Italian soundtrack. Vi

Another fan of the Dollars Trilogy here too Big fan of Clint Eastwood. That's a great scene at "Sad Hill Cemetery" with Clint, Eli Wallach and Lee Van Cleefe. Great soundtrack too. My personal favourite of the three is "For a Few Dollars More".

I think I'd rather watch 'For A Few Dollars More' as I prefer the story & score, TGTBATUgly is a long haul at nearly 3 hours & Eli Wallach's scenery chewing can grate a bit, Rod Steiger does the same in 'A Fistful Of Dynamite'.

Yes, I think that's hit the nail on the head there Arthur. I've not seen a Fistful of Dynamite but will try to at some point. I remember an older Rod Steiger in The Specialist.

My personal favourite of the three is "For a Few Dollars More". Lee Van Cleef is great in For A Few Dollars More. I love the scene early in the film, where he's sitting in the train carriage reading a big Bible, and smoking a pipe, looking as usual like someone you wouldn't want to upset. Suddenly he decides he wants to get off the train and pulls the emergency cord. The train conductor walks up and asks him about it, but soon thinks better of it. Lee gets his horse from the back and calmly walks of the train. Great scene, I must find time to watch that film again soon. Charles.

I've just been reading part of a Wikipedia piece on For A Few Dollars More, and apparently Eastwood told a film historian that he considered this middle film the best one of the trilogy.
Charles.

I think he maybe right, Charles. It probably just edged the other two and not so long-winded as The Good, The Bad and the Ugly
