The Saint, Del Boy, and 10 more like this

Following on from the marvellous success of the Get Likely Meet, it is time to announce the date and subject of 4:3tv Meet 005. Also, given the very positive comments on making the Newcastle Meet a weekender, I think it will be a good idea again to follow that format for this Meet.
Anyway, on to the Meet itself.
The plan will be to meet up in Bingham, Nottingham first thing on Sunday 15th October. From here we will travel around some of the best locations from series 2 of Auf Wiedersehen Pet. For those who enjoyed Newcastle, and enjoyed Auf Pet, you will love to visit some of these iconic locations.
Again, I know that driving will be far more relaxed than previous London based Meets. Anyone who registers as a driver has nothing to be concerned about here. I've covered these locations at least a dozen times since the late 1980's and never had any traffic issues.
As I mentioned earlier, the plan is for this event to be a weekender for those who are interested so basically,
Meet format:
Saturday: Arrival in Bingham at your leisure. We will be enjoying a few pints locally on the Saturday evening and will not be overly concerned with locations on this day.
Sunday: Reasonably early start for a drive around. A lunch break will be followed by another drive around more locations before returning to Bingham for overnight accomodation.
Monday: Everyone will return home at a time to suit themselves.
I will be working on an itinerary that takes in the best of the locations that are feasible in the time we have on Sunday. It will be quality rather than quantity here. (There will be a return to Auf Pet for a future Meet just as with Newcastle)
Obviously, we will require vehicles to get around the locations on the day so we will be heavily reliant on members who do drive up to Bingham using their cars to get themselves and others from location to location. REMEMBER that it is far easier to get around up there than it is in London.
A huge thanks to The Saint who has put in many hours researching a good place for us to stay on the Saturday (14th) & Sunday (15th) nights. Not only that, but he has also managed to work a deal with them to offer us a small discount.
Details of the accommodation are as follows:
The Bingham Townhouse.
15, Market Street,
Bingham,
NG13 8AB
You can call them on 01949 838456.
Rooms are:
Single = £120 for two nights inc breakfast
Twin = £140 for two nights inc breakfast
Those calling to book should clearly state that you are with RICHARD (The Saint) to get the above discount price (£20 discount)
The hotel has it's own secure car park.
Alternatively, you are free to source your own accommodation if you wish.
PLEASE BE AWARE THAT WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY ASPECT OF YOUR BOOKING AND THAT ROOMS WILL BE ON A FIRST COME FIRST SERVED BASIS. IT IS NOT THE FAULT OF 4:3tv STAFF IF YOU MISS OUT - SO HURRY AND BOOK!
Those of you who are not driving and are making your way by alternative means, there is a train station in Bingham itself which is just a 5 minute walk from the hotel.
So..... Anyone interested ?
If so, please come forward and put your name down on this thread. If you would consider driving up there and would be happy to have passengers during the meet itself (like I will be) then please clearly indicate this.
Total so far:
14 Members
5 Cars Booked (20 seats)
Any questions at all, please don't hesitate to ask here in this thread or by PM.
Thanks as ever to all members for your interest in these events. They really are fantastic days and not to be missed
Gene.
