This is probably my favourite of all themes, The Flashing Blade, a dubbed version of a 1967 French serial first shown, according to the BBC genome site, on BBC1 in 1969, repeated in 1971, 1972, 75, 78, 79, 80 & 88. I think I must've first seen it in 1980, the credits still gives me the shivers.

I've always liked that one too Tiger, though I must have seen it in about '71 or '72.
The other one that sticks in my mind is The Adventures of Robinson Crusoe though I don't know when this was broadcast after the original release in '65. I certainly wouldn't have seen it or remembered it from then as I would only have been 3 years old.

Can’t quite believe this hasn’t featured yet! This is my favourite of all the theme variations, past and present; especially the closing theme:

Used to love to watch tv when I came home from school, the Runaround theme reminded me of this:

I can't seem to track it down on the genome site, the wikipedia page says it was first broadcast in between coverage of the Apollo moon landing, then repeated in 69, 72, 73, 74, 75, 77. It was last repeated in 1982 which is no doubt when I saw it though my memories of it aren't as strong as The Flashing Blade. I used to have the cd of the soundtrack.

Some great themes here. From kids tv I like the Cheggars Plays Pop theme. 70s guitar heaven.
The Flashing Blade credits sounds to me like it is sung by the same guy who did the Rentaghost theme.
