Cheers lads. Appreciate the comments Rest assured, I'm onto it as I type and will be posting details as soon as I know a date and have decided what we'll be doing for 4:3tv Meet 005 in October. One thing I am sure of is that it will be a weekender Meet again. Gene.

One thing I am sure of is that it will be a weekender Meet again. Gene. That's excellent news Gene, and in particular the BIB. I thought the weekender format worked really well and added a new and successful dynamic to the Meet that we've never had before. Also good to know that you've already made a start on Meet 005, and whatever the theme is, I'll be very much up for it.

I agree. Seeing as its more travel for many of the squad to get to these places, it makes sense to spend a weekend there. From midday Saturday to Monday afternoon in Newcastle the time absolutely flew by. There's no way you could pack the following into even an early start day out. The Saturday is a fun day and theres a more relaxed feel about the meet. We certainly packed a lot in. (Last two Me and dirty only) - Meet and greet drink and lunch overlooking the Tyne
- Local location walk
- p*** up location walk
- Curry ... and ahem pizza
- Squad breakfast
- Back to the Honeymoon suite
- Meet proper
- Squad meal
- Squad breakfast
- Shopping trip around Toon (Got some good vinyl Minder theme tune and a Del Boy jumper from charity shop )
- Final lunchtime drink overlooking the Tyne

Another good thing about making it a weekender is being able to go out on the razz with everyone on a Saturday night because normally me and a few others bring up a classic car to the meet so would usually come up early Sunday morning as we don't want to leave our tasty steel out overnight on the streets of London and we miss the Saturday shenanigans. Being a whole weekend away means more time to chat and have a few beers.

Thoroughly agree with the above comments regarding the fact that a weekender provides a great opportunity to really dissolve into the location and stretch the meet out. Some of the component parts of the Get Likely meet regarding its duration were already hatched in previous meets when some of the members commendably took it upon themselves to organise mini-gatherings on the Saturday evening, prior to the Sunday, especially for those not based in London. We were really blessed in Newcastle the whole time we were there, culminating in the brilliant meet, and there's no reason why it can't happen again, especially for those who missed it first time round. The strange things you notice in a Whitley Bay car-park... Those haunting staithes.

Totally agree Mick. You're right, the hardcore Sweeney heads were doing the Saturday night pre meet going back years. Windy planned a lot of those and I bet for many of the squad a weekender for the meets is the norm. I have attended two in this format and I have to say I like it Gene's location walk on the Saturday in between two drinkypoohs was a nice warm up for the main event Great shot of the Staithes btw Michael

Yeah it was our own Windy who came up with the Saturday night p*** up idea at The Sweeney meets and very good idea it was too. Also explored some very nice/interesting hostelries in London and now Newcastle with this too. Just gives everyone more of a chance to mix/catch up and also wet the anticipation for the Sunday itself. As for October Newcastle or somewhere else I'm well up for a weekender meet - bring it on.
