Yesterday i been mostly listening to Barry White's little known but excellent soundtrack ( the only soundtrack he composed ) for the relatively obscure 1974 film 'Together Brothers'.

I'm just listening to The Best of The Doors and got to this classic:
I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
Sam. A wonderful way to let 7 minutes of your life go and by. Jim Morrison led a dangerous life didn't he, lighting up cigarettes at the petrol station RIP

Been listening to Alfie today. Another bunch of scally's from Manchester who were part of the "acoustic movement" of the late 90's early 00's. I saw them live and had booked tickets to go and see them again in Northampton but on the day of the gig it snowed and I couldn't get there although the gig went ahead. They split up not long afterwards and so I never did see them again. I then booked tickets instead to go and see The Beta Band but the guitarist broke his wrist and so the gig was cancelled, again, they broke up before it could be re-scheduled. But, you don't have to worry about any of that because here they are, Alfie and You Make No Bones. 5 minutes of bliss, so relax, grab a nice cup of tea and relax:

The lead singer sounds like he's been patronising The Railway Arms a little too long
Haven't heard that before Steve. Nice one

Yeah, he's an acquired taste right enough but I like it.

After a bit of a hectic and somewhat cack day today I decided to put something mellow on in the car tonight.
I know that Gene likes this one too, good old Terry Parsons at his finest:
There have been so many versions of this by different artists. Frank Sinatra's version is in second place for me but still a long way off the quality of Matt Monro.
Dean Martin's version was poor.
Tom Jones' attempt dire.
And then we get to Michael Buble: "She wucks, like an angel wucks"
Sam.

I've never heard any male vocalist with a voice as good and clear as Matt. Effortless and pitch perfect.
Which ties in nicely with what I believe to be the best female singer ever to grace us. A track I was listening to in the motor about an hour ago is still echoing through my ears...
