Another great Life On Mars thread. Really enjoying these insights Gene.
Do you watch the episodes at quarter speed to help spot them?

Not quite. I freeze frame every time the camera angle changes. It's amazing what you see...
Glad you're enjoying them Tel.

Another revealing mistake discovered tonight.
Series 1 Episode 1
The Black Ford Zephyr Police Car that is sent to pick up Kramer is wearing the number plate RVP 154G
But when the camera angle changes to show Kramer in the car, you see the genuine registration of the car etched in the glass.
On closer inspection we can see it is EKM 414C
Also in reality, the Zephyr is now white and MOT'd until March 2017 with 75000 on the clock.

I never would of noticed half of these bloopers! What with my eye sight lol!.. considering life on mars as been made in the 21st century! I think they did a brilliant job! And is quite authentic! And To the point of when I always watch it' it transports me back! Maybe not as much as the Sweeney! But never the less it does a good job!

Ah yes, but it was easier for the Sweeney to look authentic 70's...

Another blooper of sorts tonight while compiling the locations for Series 2 Episode 6.
Sam is seen driving to "Lancashire General Hospital" to see Layla. In reality this was Birch Hill Hospital in Rochdale. In the 1970s this was a fully operational Hospital, but by the time of filming Life On Mars, some of the Hospital Services had already started moving away to a new location. It shut it's doors for the last time on January 2nd 2013 and is subject of a new housing development for 400 homes.
In Life On Mars we see Sam pull up outside the Hospital in his Marina. To the side of him we see a huge window that has been boarded up. When he gets out of the car and runs into the Hospital, we can clearly see another window boarded up, indicating that parts of the building had already been closed.

It's strange that they never picked a more suitable building to shoot the scene. Perhaps the crew turned up on the day of filming not expecting the windows to be boarded up, and it was to late to pick another location ?

A late 1990s streetlamp for you (a Phillips Streetfighter, my brother informs me ) Also, on the topic of spotting strange things, something very odd happened in my living room recently. This table was next to my TV the other morning: Then we went after some anti-vivisectionists, as you do, and when I was sent home for bad behaviour (again) ... this happened Answers on postcards, ladies and gents ...

Why do you still have Christmas lights strung around your goggle-box? It is way past Twelfth Night. Back to your question though: are you sure that it is the table that has moved? It is still up against the skirting board, perhaps it is that the settee and the TV have swapped places? Time to start thinking like a copper Bolly! Sam.
