Working my way through Series 2 now. Episode 1 complete and...
Just found one of the episode 2 locations that has been eluding me for a few years (I wasn't in that scene ) especially after seeing incorrect information posted elsewhere on the web. It's bang on the money now though

Hallo Gene, A bit of trivia inquiry. Does anyone who likes the show also like the song "Life on Mars" circa I think 1969 David Bowie?

I think David Bowie is highly respected throughout the forum and it was a great idea by the writers to name the series after the song. It was inevitable that the subsequent series would follow with another Bowie track. For me both songs are within my top 5 Bowie tracks. Sam.

Hi Sam, I live in the US so I have never heard of the series "Life on Mars" nor, unfortunately seen it… yet… will rectify that. So, due to my ignorance, please tell me what is the second Bowie song on the series? David Bowie has been an incredible influence in my life… in high school I tried to BE David Bowie. Thanx Adara

Gene Hunt and Sam Tyler are both characters from Life On Mars which ran for two series. This was then succeeded by three series of Ashes To Ashes which had Gene Hunt again and Alex Drake as the lead characters.
There was a US version of Life On Mars with Harvey Keitel in the role of Gene Hunt but from my understanding this was not as successful and the Ashes To Ashes follow-up wasn't commissioned in the US.

Sam. Sam is correct. The US version was no where near as successful as the UK version. The US made just one series with 17 episodes. Viewing figures of the US version declined heavily during its run, partly due to a break between episodes mid way of 2 months. When it eventually resumed it was given a new time slot. Producers ABC announced they would NOT commission a 2nd series.
Take our advice Adara, if you can, get hold of the UK series set and you will enjoy it.
Back on track, Series 2 Episode 3 now complete. More deception to throw me off the location scent identified in this episode.

Hi Gene and Sam ok quite confused or naive Adara here. Are you 2 the actual actors in the UK Life on Mars? I'll try to see it on you tube…. is it available for sale ? I do have an all region DVD player so that's no problem. Oh I got it ( smile ) "Ashes to Ashes !!!!
Thanx, Adara
