I think that Lewis was very upset that he could not perform more stunts (as he did in his more 'professional' role) as he'd got himself in shape for the role prior to the commencement of filming... Maybe certain SAS members did take part??!!
Insurance seemingly had a part to play which he found exceptionally frustrating! An injured actor is a burden to all I imagine!!
A true 'hands-on' actor if ever there was one!!! What a gem...

Quite a good film I thought yeah. According to Wikipedia though, Lewis Collins was signed up for a 3 picture contract by prducer Euan Lloyd on the strength of this film but only one of the 3 were ever made. That was Wild Geese 2, but Lewis never appeared in it, in the end.

I wish I knew what exactly caused the issues where Lewis didn't do all his Euan films...
However, he was not very complimentary about WDW and also Euan Lloyd seemed to have a struggle with funding so it was the perfect/imperfect storm as it were!! Also, it does seem that Lewis' agent wasn't really that good in terms of finding work and agreeing figures.
A real shame as Lewis deserved to be shot to stardom! He could've been a contender...
