I watched the Datsun ep this morning when I got home. Must say that Ed did a good job this week and credit where it is due MB did the right thing in buying the auto with the intention of changing it to a manual from the start.
I think the episode this week followed the right track by doing worthwhile modifications such as the cam, exhaust manifold, carbs, and gearbox rather than going the route that they did with the Pacer.
Clearly they did as they "made a tidy profit" at the end.
Next week the VW Thing.

I sat and watched this week's episode last night with VW Thing. An odd choice of car to say the least but certainly a better choice than the AMC Pacer from two weeks ago.
It is good to see the car up in the air and being worked on. Edd certainly has a way of conveying well the work and modifications that he does to the car but I still question some of the decisions. Yes it is a good idea to uprate the brakes but at $2000 to put discs on the front, would that have put more than $2000 on the sale price? I have my doubts.
We've also not seen much of "My mate Paul" Brackley in this series either but he's clearly on hand with the work as he gets a namecheck on every program as an advisor.

The only thing I found to be quite irritating was that they felt the need to do a full recap of the show so far after every ad break. So much time there was wasted going over old ground again, time that could have been spent watching the repair work to the car.
This is creeping into TV more and more and it irritates the hell out of me. Back to the thread and I watched this series (seen them all) and my favourite was the BMW 2002 tii, what a superb motor. Wish they'd do a Corrado .

I'm pretty much addicted to this programme! I only get to see them on Quest as I've only got Freeview, and I love watching the early ones. I often think they're so long ago that the first ones they did would probably need doing again!
There are some cars I would like to see that they've never bothered with. They started out by doing cars we've all driven - the fiesta xr2's, capri's, mini''s. But as time went on, it was more exclusive vehicles or one's we could not really hope to own. Did they do a Sierra once? Often thought they should but can't remember seeing one.
I'm glad they try to keep to original spec and not pimp things up too much. They did a lovely job on a Morris Minor Traveller once, and that black and gold 50th mini, but sometimes things look a bit tacky - that Lexus with the HID headlights? Yuk!
I have to agree with some of the others here about MB being a bit grating. Turning up and saying to Edd half way through 'You ain't done much mate!'... I wouldn't be too amused. Edd's great, saw a funny one today with a triumph soft top; they were driving along and his head was above the windscreen!

Bit late to this, but Ive only just started watching it, quite late at night on Quest I think. Agree with the comments on it, I like Ed, Mike is a bit annoying. It also depends on the car as to whether or not I watch it, if its modern stuff (90s onwards) I don't bother, but if its a classic I enjoy it
