I just think over all Public Eye was just a great series! despite by today’s standards the story lines were quite simple and so probably a lot of people will laugh at them, and especially with some of them being in B & W as well, but regardless of all this, a lot of the episodes and story lines had the ability to keep you gripped in suspense as to where it is going and how it’s gonna finish! a great example of this can be found in the episode called Welcome to Brighton, where Frank nearly gets scragged’ on the beach off two bikers! One being the actor John Bindon! Great episode, wondering how Frank was gonna pull it off. This type of kitchen sink drama was just brill back then, and ya simply don’t really see it now. Another one comes to mind is Z cars’ oh how I wish they would release more episodes on dvd! So frustrating, and such an injustice, in the world of retro Tele programs..

TPTV are due to run Public Eye again, 10.05pm on Tuesday 8th March, starting with Series 4 from 1969. Time to set the timer on the PVR.

When it was first released and at a reasonable price it was one of those to "maybe buy later on". As you say, the box set goes for a ridiculous price these days. I managed to grab a few episodes from the last run on TPTV.
