Very good purchase there Sam, nicely played! Are any of the other Profs' motors available as slot cars...? Villain Nothing else released as a Pros car although there are various Capris and SD1s that could be converted. Other than Pros cars there is a resin body available of the MK1 Consul and a MK1 Transit as well as a range of Jaguar bodies, and even a Fiat 850 coupe that could be resprayed red for Sweeney background scenes.
Sadly no MK2 Granadas, Rover P5s or P6s, though I'm sure if someone with a 3D printer could get hold of the CAD files....
Sam.
Cheers Sam - I've often thought about building up a collection of Sweeney / Profs / blaggers type model cars but somehow never got round to it. Some of the stuff available in different scales is amazingly good but certain cars aren't covered that well when it comes to models. There are lots of large scale models of exotic stuff but I'd love to see someone do 1/18th scale versions of P5s, P6s, Jag XJs, Transit vans, Granadas etc. Dare say they'd all be quite expensive if they ever appeared though! One way to do it would be to commission someone to laser scan a full sized vehicle and pay for it to be produced in model form, but I know how expensive it is already as someone I know scanned a full size BR diesel loco a couple of years ago, the cost of which was eye watering. As well as the models, just lately I've started hankering after Sweeney / Profs period Granadas / Capris and the like, I really should stop watching the DVDs too often..! Villain

Although some are available in 1:24th, 1:28th and 1:43 scale, the majority of slot cars are 1:32 so don't take up a huge amount of space if displayed individually.
I've often thought about modifying standard cars and have bought many complete cars as well as models kits for recreating some of these cars. The shame is that they are lined up as future projects because I don't have the spare time to get cracking on them.
One day...
Sam

I've bought a few 1/43rd models in the past, mostly '60s Minis from Vanguard, but the standard keeps getting better all the time. This afternoon I was googling for images of Mk1 and 2 Granadas (as you do ) and found a very tasty looking Mk2 limited edition model in that scale which looks great for its size (it was a two tone silver over blue job, one of our resident Ford experts will know which one no doubt).
