I was reminded of The Sweeney when Gene Hunt said: "Why do I always attract the liars and the weirdos?" It just seemed like a link to Regan's Abduction line, "It's a bloody holiday camp for thieves and weirdos." (I suppose it's a bit of a stretch but you don't get a lot of people saying 'weirdos' on tv anymore. Shame that really). We say it at every singe Meet that the Saint attends funnily enough....
Gene.
That must be why I haven't watched The Sweeney religiously since 2011

Not a lot of people noticed that......
Pictured alongside the Cortina in Life On Mars frequently, and also in the picture below, is an Austin Allegro 2. Though the Allegro was in production from 1973, the Allegro 2 wasn't produced until very late 1975 - 2 years AFTER Life On Mars was set.

In one episode, we see Ray (plain clothes officer of course) driving the Allegro Panda when escorting Dicky Fingers back to the nick. But I'm sure a plain clothes officer wouldn't drive a marked Panda??

Good spot Gerry, but it was Chris who was driving that day

DS Carling you seem to have forgotten that I had considered that you were the better officer for maintaining the prisoner captive in the rear of the patrol vehicle.
Had I been able to predict that we were going encounter an act of aggression during our journey back to the station, and that Detective Constable Skelton would have panicked at the first encounter, I would have taken control of the panda car myself since I am experienced in extensive tactical driving tuition and would have been able to perform suitable evasive and defensive driving techniques.

Yep, can't fault your driving Sam. It's getting out of the motor and walking away you have trouble with as I recall..... Gene.

Watched Throjan bus the other day from the Sweeney, and noticed a villains name that cropped up was Colin Raimes' Coincidence 🤔

I will have to watch trojan bus again though, as I could of sworn I heard Colin Raimes A guess with ya being an expert on L & M it's gonna be hard for you to sucome to trickery 😆
